Application of Basic Rhodamine B

Basic Rhodamine B is a kind of dark green powder, which is easily soluble in water. It is a dye for cloth, paper products or cosmetics. It is mostly alkaline and will not cause any harm even if it is directly contacted with human skin. So how to use Basic Rhodamine B to dye, and what are the methods? Let’s have a good understanding here.

How to use Basic Rhodamine B?

Because the surface potential of cellulose fiber will occasionally rise in the neutral or weak alkaline dyeing bath, and it can generate certain charge repulsion with the basic dye anion. After adding salt electrolyte solution, a large number of positively charged sodium ions are connected with the dye anion. They adhere to the charge neutrality, greatly reducing the difficulty of the dyeing process, and promoting the close combination of fiber appearance and dye molecules. The dyeing process of basic dyes can be divided into three stages. In addition, the dyeing process of basic dyes should not be too fast in adsorption.

If Basic Rhodamine B is a separation process of electrolytes in absorption, it may lead to dye aggregation to form an uneven dyeing state. Electrolytes participate in the middle, which can not only prevent the above situation, but also improve the printing and dyeing speed of the dyeing process.

What are the dyeing methods of Basic Rhodamine B

1. Dyeing methods for controlling temperature with different retarders:

This method uses different retarders and appropriately prolongs the heating time to make the acrylic fiber dyed evenly. Temperature must be strictly controlled during dyeing. This method is applicable to coarse fiber dyeing, rope dyeing and wool/acrylic blended yarn dyeing. The dye is gradually absorbed with the increase of temperature, making the wool/acrylic blended yarn easy to dye with acid dyes, and some softeners can be added appropriately. The dyeing process needs to control the temperature so that the dyeing can be more uniform.

2. Retarder dyeing method:

The blocking effect of basic rosin retarder on acid group of acrylic fiber was studied. The addition of retarder makes the acrylic fiber properly saturated, hinders the absorption of cations in water, and makes the dyeing speed gradually slow down. This dyeing method is applicable to all kinds of acrylic fibers.
